Kǒng Fán Yán
biography
Fanyan Kong is a multidisciplinary artist from Shanghai and Shanxi, China, currently based in London, UK. He is a third-year BA (Hons) Photography student at the London College of Communication.Working across photography, moving images, sculpture, graphic design, and multimedia installation, Kong’s practice explores the spaces between different cultures, examining how identities are shaped through translation and interaction.At the core of his practice is the transformation of contextual research into immersive art experiences. His work draws from a wide range of topics, including the agency of audiences in machine-generated art, the complexities of cultural translation within the framework of post-orientalism, and the growing tensions between data and human behavior in the digital age.Through a diverse range of mediums, Kong challenges conventional narratives and creates spaces for reflection on the evolving relationship between technology, culture, and identity.education2022-2025
